The House
Our Story
A house built on silk that was grown before it was cut.

Karnataka · The Silk
The grandfather's farm.
Before there was a label, there was a farm outside Mysuru. Mulberry trees, cocoons on the branches, a grandfather who understood silk the way most people understand their own name. He grew it. He sold it. He never wore it.
Two generations later, the house of Seema Sahukaiah is built on that inheritance. Every metre of silk we cut can be traced back to the soil we came from.

Why Black
Black is not absence.
We were told black was for mourning. We disagreed. Black is the colour a woman puts on when she has decided something. It absorbs everything the room throws at her and gives nothing back.
The house works in one colour because one colour is enough when the fabric is right. Every piece here is pure black silk. The only exception in the archive is a single run of oxblood velvet — and even that is only just.
Wear black. Rise from it.

The Signature
The gold crab.
Cancer. The crab. A shell built to protect what is soft. The founder's zodiac, and now the house mark — hand-embroidered in real gold thread on the left waist of every piece we make.
It is our promise, sewn in: that resilience and softness can live in the same body, and that we will only make clothes that understand both.
“Bengaluru raised me. Silk raised the house. Black is what we chose.”
— Seema Sahukaiah
